You’d better polish up your negotiating skills, because it looks like Medicare Accountable Care Organizations aren’t going away any time soon.
CMS has issued a rule that it says will make the ACO program more flexible and will “grow participation,” according to a statement. The program has faced criticism for overly stringent benchmarks and other problems leading organizations to drop out (see Eli’s HCW, Vol. XXIII, No. 34).
