AIC Threshold To Rise

The amount in controversy (AIC) thresh- old amounts for Administrative Law Judge hearings and judicial review under the Medicare appeals process will increase as of Jan. 1. The 2020 AIC threshold amounts increase from $160 this year to $170 for ALJ hearings and from $1,630 this year to $1,670 for judicial review, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services notes in the Oct. 7 Federal Register at . CMS updates the AIC threshold amounts annually.
